Description
Pakistan/ Baluchistan, Ca 3000 BCE. A wonderful ancient Indus Valley, Bronze Age pottery statue, dating to the fourth Millennium B.C. An attractive statue, probably representing a fertility Goddess. The figure is shown in fine detail with deep-set eyes, zoomorphic, bird-like appearance and veiled headdress. This piece dates to the Mehrgarh periods IV - VI, approximately 3500-2800 B.C.
