Aragonite is most usually found as a colorless mineral, or tinged with only a slight blushing; here, however, is a highly aesthetic specimen with an unusual and wonderfully rich duck-egg blue color across its entire surface, fascinatingly textured with botryoidal growths and large sprays of feathery, needle-like crystals. A highly attractive and unusual display piece, it measures approximately 11 x 10 x 5 inches and weighs 22 lb, presented upright on a carved and lacquered Chinese-style wooden base.
