Underneath with Hanau hallmarks, presumably by Ludwig Neresheimer & Co.
Finely crafted rim
Weight: ca. 1500 gram
Dimensions: 65.5 x 39.5 cm
This oval silver serving tray is striking in the very finely crafted rim, which is all around embellished with a garland décor. The garlands are each ‘hung’ on ribbons and hide in eight round forms the heads of eight different people in profile. The tray has got a thickness of ca. 2 mm and the rim is supported by a silver cord of ca. 4 mm. The tray can also very well be used as a wall mirror.
The tray bares two Hanau pseudo hallmarks underneath, a grape and a maker’s mark. The tray shows traces of wear and age. The plane shows some little bulges. The tray is rusted on one of the ends. The dimensions of the tray are 65.5 x 39.5 cm, and is weighs ca. 1500 gram. (tmi)
