This pretty Viennese mantel clock was produced in Austria, around 1850. The timepiece is fitted with a manual wind movement with a quarter hour strike and displays hour and minute. The brass dial shows brass hands and hand painted roman indices. The mantel clock is made of partially painted and stuccoed wood. The columns are hand painted and show postilion figures.
The mantel clock measures 46 cm in height. The clock is in good, age-related condition. The stuccoed parts have only recently been repainted in golden. The painted columns show small stains and minor damages in the painting. The mother of pearl element is minimally broken. The clock was not checked for functionality. Long term precision and regularity cannot be guaranteed. The winding key is missing.
