Description
Colima, West Mexico, Ca 200 BCE to 200 CE. How cute are these!!?? Pottery whistles, each in animal form. First, smiling head of a dog, toothy grin, wide round eyes, alert ears and mouthpiece merging from top of head. Next, small bird in simple form, wings outstretched to the sides, tail acts as mouthpiece. Each functions quite well. Dog is 2-1/4" H, bird 1-7/8" H.
