Description
Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux (1827-1875), "Bust of a Pouting Child," patinated bronze, stamped on the shoulder "Propriete Carpeaux," over a stamped eagle mark, on an integral stepped base, titled "Boudeur" on the front, H.- 11 1/2 in., W.- 7 in., D.- 4 3/4 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age. The front right corner and back left corner of the base are slightly bent so the base doesn’t sit flush on a flat surface. There are spots of green and white patina in the crevices of the bronze throughout. An enigmatic subject.
