American Art Nouveau Carved Mahogany Bookcase, c. 1900, the oval shaped back with foliate decoration over an open shelf, above double arched glazed doors with like decoration, on a stepped plinth on bracket feet on casters, H.- 75 in., W.- 41 in., D.- 13 in.

Condition consistent with age and use. Finish is inconsistent on the cabinet doors, with the left door hanging lower than the right. The back panels are slightly bowed outwards along the left side, at the top. A small black mark is noted by the keyhole along the right cabinet door, with a 2 inch scratch on the right side of the same door. Moderate scuffs and scratches are observed throughout the bookcase, especially along the base, and the notched shelf brackets on the interior. A classic example.
