Description
English Victorian Cast Iron Pub Table, c. 1900, by Gaskell and Chambers, Ltd., the stepped edge mahogany top with an inset circular faux red marble center, above a pierced foliate relief skirt with masks, on cabriole legs with relief masks, joined by a lower pierced stretcher shelf, H.- 29 in., Dia.- 24 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age. Finish is inconsistent on the mahogany edge on the top, with more wear to the center edge. Light ring marks and small scratches are observed on the faux marble center. Small losses to finish are seen on the base, especially on the masks, stretcher shelf edges, and feet. An classic example.
