Transitional Louis XV-into-Louis XVI-Style Kingwood and Marble-Top Commode, early 19th century, the breakfront rectangular marble top with molded edge, above a conforming case fitted with two drawers, each paneled and with lattice-patterned parquetry inlay, raised on cabriole legs ending in paw sabots, h. 35-1/2", w. 37", d. 18".

The case has had some scattered veneer repairs and pieced-in patches. Some further lifting of veneer to the top drawer. Small losses and loose veneer to the sides. The original marble has some chips and divots to the front edge.
