PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE COLLECTION, BOCA RATON, FLORIDA

FRENCH VINTAGE MOLDED FROSTED AND COLORLESS GLASS PERFUME BOTTLE, “Un Air Embaumé" for RIGAUD, 1915 to 1925, unsigned and lacking all labels, probably Darras, possibly Lalique, the sides decorated in relief with female nudes emenating from incense burners, the stopper of rectangular form molded with stylized waves.
Height 4 1/8 in., Diameter 3 in.

cf. The bottle was advertised as being manufactured by Lalique, however there are no existing reference to the bottle being made by Lalique in any of the Lalique literature, further there are no extant examples of this bottle with a signature.
The bottle was produced in the Bresle valley in France by the Darras Glassworks. In1914, Henri Rigaud became sole proprietor of the French perfumerie "Veuve Rigaud". The firm soon simplified it's name to “Rigaud.”
