The following three lots of William de Morgan tiles were removed from a fireplace in a house built in 1889 by the shipbuilder Sir John Isaac Thornycroft (1843-1928) in Chiswick, on the banks of the River Thames, and former home of Sir Rowland Whitehead. A collection of eight William De Morgan 'Carnation' pattern tiles, probably Chelsea Period, six fixed, two loose, with loss, each 6in square
