Description
The Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior Zagato was a limited production (1117) two seater with aerodynamic bodywork by Zagato of Milan. The company was established by Ugo Zagato in 1918 and was to become synonymous with light weight and excellent drag-cheating designs. His collaboration with Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Aston Martin saw the creation of a series of legendary and beautiful race cars.
This Junior GT 1300 epitomises the Zagato `brief', one of the best handling cars of the seventies with the efficiency of the legendary and willing 1300 twin cam engine. With near perfect weight distribution and rear wheel drive, this pretty coupe is a real joy to drive. All the numbers are matching and it carries the correct stampings to the aluminium panels (bonnet and doors). Period extras consist of Cromodora Magnesium alloys and a Hellebore steering wheel. There is a comprehensive history file and full photographic record of the `back to metal` repaint.
As previous Alfa Romeo Zagato derivatives now command serious values, this model must be a great `turn-key` investment prospect.
