In 1984 Porsche introduced the M491 option. Officially called the Supersport in the UK, it was commonly known as the "Turbo-look", a style that resembled the Porsche 930 Turbo with wide wheel arches and the distinctive "tea tray" tail. It featured the stiffer turbo suspension and the superior turbo braking system as well as the wider turbo wheels. Sales of the Supersport were particularly strong for its first two years in the United States because the desirable 930 was not available. These special order Carreras contain many suspension and body upgrades developed by Porsche's competition department.

"C692 OTW" is an original UK righthand drive SuperSport Cabriolet supplied by Dick Lovett Porsche Centre, Swindon and was registered on the 11th April 1986.

Presented in its original and striking colour of Guards Red and upgraded Cancan Red/Black leather with Red piping this example is in excellent order clearly showing the benefit of it's well-maintained past.  In 2003 the then owner decided to upgrade the somewhat dated looking American style impact bumpers to the sleeker and stylish 964 variant. At the same time it was treated to a set of 996 turbo wheels.

The comprehensive history file contains details of all the work that has been carried out on the car over the years along with detailed service receipts. Also to be found are some 20 MoT's which validate the current mileage of 95,787 and the original service book displays main deal Porsche service stamps up to 64,358 miles and specialist maintenance from then on ~ the last being carried out at 87,048 miles.

Offered with a current V5C and MOT until July 2015 "C692 OTW" is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner and with Porsche prices rising recently it could prove to be a wise investment.
