Description

This model first came to public attention in 1964 when it won the Manx Grand Prix, with rider Gordon Keith recording an 87.6mph lap. It was an important win for a British bike as the Japanese were starting to dominate.

Easily identified by it's leading link front forks and cast alloy tube frame, the model started as a RAS and soon became an RFS, this being one of only 158 RES models produced.

Popular with classic racers this machine remians unrestored from it's racing life although the gearbox was reconditioned by a friend of our vendor who is an ex-Greeves employee. The vendor has riden the bike and confirms it runs well, albeit a slight petrol leak from the fibreglass fuel tank.

There are only 19 of the 158 RES models left in existence, according to the Greeves Racers database.
