Chinese Silk Court Kesi Dragon and Eight-Symbol R

18th/19th C., fine semi-formal robe decorated with traditional celestial landscape including dragons, clouds, mountains, and waves with the eight precious things of Buddhism in the waves and among the clouds, each grouped with a scepter. The designs on a light brown ground with metal-wrapped threads, the sleeve extensions of brown with stripes. There are five gold buttons, and the interior lining is a pale blue silk. Minor wear and loss. 57" long x 84" across sleeves tip to tip.
