Description

Fourth quarter 19th century, the unsigned white porcelain circular dial with black Roman numeral hours beneath a hinged glazed aperture within a scrolled cartouche-form surround on a rectangular case with acanthus sprays to the lower corners, raised on a foliate scroll footed base, enclosing a twin train movement stamped with Japy Freres Medaille d'or seal and numbered ''2987'', the whole surmounted by a figure of Napoleon on horseback, 22'' H x 14.75'' W x 6.25'' D, est: $1000/2000

Condition

General marks, scratches and rubbed wear to case and figure. Scratches to aperture. Chips to porcelain dial. Lacking rear aperture. A crack along seam of back of horse. Cracks and patched repairs along edges of case. Figure of Napoleon slightly loose. No key. Movement complete. Working condition unknown. Moran's does not guarantee working condition of clocks and watches.
