Item Details
Description
DESCRIPTION: These are a keyhole shaped spatula and an open hearth long handled wrought iron spatula, cake turner, and miniature peel. A spatula is a small implement with a broad, flat, flexible blade used to mix, spread and lift materials including foods and other necessities. In kitchens, a spatula is also known as peel or turner. A peel is an ancient baking tool. For thousands of years, bakers have moved loaves in and out of hot ovens on a long-handled shovel type of tool that was made of iron or wood. Oven Peels, or baking paddles, have been used in many different cultures and the oven varied during the different eras. In the Colonial Years of our country the ovens were made of brick, stone or clay. The keyhole shaped spatula would have been used to cook in an open hearth and would have been forged by a blacksmith. The keyhole shaped spatula is hand wrought from a single piece of iron. The keyhole shaped spatula has a fine rat tail end for hanging by the open hearth. The miniature bread peel has a thick rounded wrought iron rod handle with a decorative rat-tail hook end. There are two large wrought Iron rivets that secure the handle to the blade of the miniature bread peel.. MEASUREMENTS: Keyhole shaped spatula is 10 ½ inches long and 3 inches wide. Miniature bread peal is 21 inches long and 3 inches wide.SHIPPING: Packaging, handling, and shipping for all locations in the 48 Continental United States is $25. For Alaska, Hawaii, International, and all other locations outside the 48 Continental United States packaging and handling is $10 plus shipping which can be determined by using USPS.com with origin of 19968, package dimensions of XXXXXXXX and X pounds and your destination location.
