DESCRIPTION: This is a massive hand turned wooden pestle from the Mt. Lebanon Shaker community, circa 1800s. The Shaker massive pestle is hand turned hard rock maple wood. This Shaker massive pestle was used to grind and pound herbal poultices and flower remedies that were grown and produced by the Shaker Community. The Shaker massive pestle is decorated with turnings and a deep grooved circular scribed line. MEASUREMENTS: 18 inches long, 4 inches wide, and 12 inches round in circumference. SHIPPING: Packaging, handling, and shipping for all locations in the 48 Continental United States is $25.
