Description
Philip Guston [after] (Canadian-American, 1913-1980). "Perspective". Pen and ink drawing. 1976. Bears spurious signature and dated, lower right. Very light cream wove paper. Very good condition. Guston was a painter and printmaker in the New York School, which included many of the abstract expressionists, such as Jackson Pollock and Willem De Kooning. In the late 1960s Guston helped to lead a transition from abstract expressionism to neo-expressionism in painting, abandoning the so-called "pure abstraction" of abstract expressionism in favor of more cartoonish renderings of various personal symbols and objects. Overall size: 8 13/16 x 12 13/16 in. (224 x 325 mm). [27711] |800| {R100}
