Description
Mexican Maskmaker, [20th Century]. "Mexican Mask [Traditional - 0028]. Tlacololero Mask. From the Dance of the Tlacololeros, Chilpancingo, State of Guerrero [Mexico]". Hand-painted, hand-carved polychromed natural wood sculpture. First half of the 1970s. A "danced" mask. Not made for the tourist trade or for sale, but created by the indigenous person to be used only in a ceremonial dance. Overall condition good.
