This is a rare and unique antique that was elaborately created by Candelario Medrano. Dimensions: 34" x 8" x 6". The renowned Candelario Medrano (1918-1986) was one of the top figural ceramists in Mexico. He lived in Santa Cruz de las Huertas in the state of Jalisco, one of the largest pottery-producing states in Mexico. As the adopted son of Julian Acero, the top ceramic toy maker in the village, Medrano learned to create his highly individualized pieces. Medrano was a master of color and this piece is no exception. This colorful building in 7 stories high and is a single tower with many figures on each floor. There are many windows into the tower allowing you to see the activity of the figures within. The figures are attached to the ceramic building with wires that protrude from the bottom of figures and stick in pin holes made by the Medrano.
