Helen E. Coan (1859 - 1938) Byron, NY. Well known and much exhibited painter Helen Coan studied with Frederick Freer and William Merrit Chase at the Art Students League in NYC. This painting is atypical of her known work, which normallyfeatured still life and landscapes, and is more in tune with the style of her mentor William Merrit Chase. Measures 28" X 20".
