A bronze sculpture, mounted on a wood base, of a woman standing in a contrapposto position, while resting (or sleeping) on her hand. She wears an unidentified costume and headdress; the dreamlike and exotic subject matter suggests an Art Nouveau style. Country unconfirmed, date 1880 (or 1980?); statue is signed at the base "L. J. 80." The Art Nouveau style of the sculpture, and the signature, indicate that it may possibly be by (or copied after) Danish sculptor Lauritz Jensen (1859-1935), although the feet are rendered more clumsily than one would expect for the artist. Dimensions (including wood base): approx. 16" H x 7-3/4" W x 7-1/8" D.

In good condition; a few nicks to the bronze around the headdress, and some nicks to the wood base as well.
