Abraham Lincoln: California Ballot with Jugate Portraits on Verso. 3 1/2" x 8" paper ballot issued in California in support of Lincoln, Johnson and the vigorous prosecution of the war. The back has a woodcut with portraits of Lincoln and Andrew Jackson labeled "Lincoln Johnson". Versions also exist where Jackson is identified correctly. Jackson was often held up as an example of a Southerner who opposed secession, as seen in the Nullification Crisis of 1833. This example has a central horizontal fold and light damp stains.
