A fine mahogany secretary copied from a 1760-1770 example at the Essex Institute and featuring a block-front desk, banded doors and drop front, hand-carved scroll-top pediment (repaired), candle slides and a wonderful interior fitted with drawers, pigeon holes, shelves, etc. An earlier example of the artist's work that was formerly among the furnishings of Maynard Manor, some hinges do not open properly. 8.5" H, 3.5" W, signed under the bottom drawer. Also an imported chair, stand and pot of violets.
