Description
The B-47 became the first true modern bomber to fill the ranks of General Curtiss Lemay's new Strategic Air Command. With long range, high altitude capabilities, the "Stratojet" became the backbone of SAC in the early 1950's. As fast as many early jet fighters, with sophisticated defenses and an operational altitude of up to 40,000 feet, the B-47 was a strong deterent in the early days of the nuclear standoff. This print is sing by the artist and personally autographed by B-47 test Pilot A.M. "Tex" Johnston. Tex as his friends called him, was famous for barrel rolling the prototype B707 over the Hydro races in Seattle, WA in 1955. This print is in perfect condition and has never been mounted. It is a L/E of 850 prints. The image is 25" x 18 1/2" and comes with a framable COA.
