ANDO: SHOULDER VASE WITH FUJI-FLOWERS
Enamel on metal, silver. Japan, Meiji (1868 – 1912) until Taisho-period
Very elegant vase in light-blue enamel. Concise base, short neck, wide open mouth – the base and mouth are rendered in silver. The depiction is executed in remarkably fine cloisonne (in Japan Shippo), and shows white and violet Fuji-flowers (Wisteria), which hang from branches in grape-like bundles. On the bottom, a mark of the prominent manufactory Ando. Very good condition.
