Original Rare: Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver. Serial #187987, .31 cal. percussion, 5" barrel still exhibiting strong rifling. The metal surfaces are gunmetal gray with few isolated pockets of blue visible mostly, in protectedareas. Surprisingly the brass grip frame still retains about 20% of its nickel finish around the triggerguard and the upper grip frame. The bottom grip frame screw appears to be a replacement. Theone piece walnut grips rate good. They have moderate handling wear and are split in two and show signs of a previous repair attempt. Luckily the crack is even and they should repair ok with proper technique.All appropriate parts are correctly numbered to the frame, the wedge which is unnumbered.
