Description
Wood, William. William B. Wood pictorial broadside. Port-of-Spain, Daily New Job Printing Office, 1897. One-color pictorial broadside (10 x 25”) advertising Wood & Edna’s final performance in Trinidad, and picturing a levitation scene. Other acts including juggling, ventriloquism, and The Bard Bros. billed as “The Great Triple Horizontal Bar Act.” Stained, chipped, small losses; framed, and not examined out of frame. Marginal notes appear in two places on the broadside, indicating the location of the performance and the Bard’s position on the bill. William B. Wood, a contemporary of Harry Kellar, met an untimely death at sea in the Gulf of Mexico. A copy of a letter in Bard’s hand describes in further detail his tour with Wood and other personal details about the magician.
