The pendant features a tanzanite set within a diamond bezel, completed by a diamond set bail. The pendant is supported by an eighteen inch length 14KT white gold designer style chain terminating in a lobster claw clasp. Bright polish finish. Identified with markings of "14K". Containing: One prong set oval mixed cut natural tanzanite, measuring 10.80 x 8.45 x 5.10mm, 8%. bulge factor, approximate weight of 3.42ct., clarity is eye clean, type I, medium, very slightly grayish, bluish violet color, (GIA bV 5/3), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. Graded in the setting. Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone that is only found in the country of Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany & Company, named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania.
