Description The Proof Set hold five coins in a soft plastic package. In the sixth compartment is a double sided coin from the Bureau of the Mint. The packaging is trimmed in red and double sealed. The two Eisenhower Dollars are set in plastic sheaths and backed in blue paper contained in a separate compartment.
Condition The packaging on the Proof Set shows wear, with the primary sheathing beginning to peel. The coins within are in mint/proof state condition and gleaming. The Eisenhower coins show a bit of tarnish, but are otherwise well-kept within their cases.Meta: CoinsMeta: Proof Set
History In 1971, the bill allowing for the Eisenhower Dollar to be proofed and minted was signed. The coin itself was created in celebration of the nation's bicentennial - two hundredth anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
