Jug, Crock, and Kettle

Description: This collection includes a five gallon jug with a lid, a five gallon crock, and a kettle. All have their bottom halves white and the tops dark brown, though the kettle is only glazed on the top half. The jug is marked with a blue crown and its gallons whereas the crock is marked with its gallons and a stylized pot.

Condition: All three items show minor chipping, scratches, pitting, and overall signs of wear from use over the years, but there are no structurally damaging flaws such as cracks or holes, neither are there major losses.
History: The Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Company was established in 1900 and remained in operation for over 100 years. At the time of its closing they claimed to be the oldest continuously operating stoneware factory in the U.S. and the world's largest manufacturer of stoneware crocks. They also advertised that its products were manufactured with clay that was mined within 10 to 15 miles of the factory in Roseville, Ohio. RRPCo ceased operation in 2005.
