Description: Presentation cane inscribed J. Stackpole to W. W. Austin, Feb. 19, 1878. Likely William W. Austin, harbor pilot, Savannah, Georgia and Confederate States of America, pilot, captured CSS Atlanta.Made from Central American cocobolo wood with a whale ivory knop measuring a full 1.5 " diameter and a 2.5" steel ferrule.
