DESCRIPTION: This is a collection of three colonial wrought iron tasting spoons, from New England, circa 1700s. All three wrought iron tasting spoons were handmade by a blacksmith. The largest tasting spoon has decoration on the handle and had a long handle for use in an open hearth fireplace. The medium tasting spoon has a flat end on one end of handle and tapers to a rounded end near the bowl. The short tasting spoon is also decorated and would have been used for tasting porridges and sauces. All three tasting spoons had rat-tail hooks for hanging by the open hearth fireplace.MEASUREMENTS: Longest tasting spoon is 19 inches long and 4 inches wide. Medium tasting spoon is 14 inches long and 2 ½ inches wide. Shortest tasting spoon is 9 inches long and 2 inches wide.SHIPPING: Packaging, handling, and shipping for all locations in the 48 Continental United States is $25.
