Description
A late Victorian 15ct gold amethyst brooch. The oval-shape amethyst collet, to the tapered openwork sides, with bead intervals. Length 4.5cms. Weight 3.4gms.
Condition
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface wear and light scratches in keeping with age. Replacement base metal catch and pin, with soft solder joint. Jump ring to reverse of collet. Minor discolouration to some areas of the reverse. Amethyst slightly off-set, possible replacement. Amethyst purple, fair to moderate colour saturation. Fair clarity with noticeable typical inclusions. Gemstone in good condition with minor abrasion and some nicks. Please see Important Notices for Purchasers in our catalogue for coloured gemstones.
