buffalo hide, white pigment remains, of oval form, decorated with concentric circles and with a series of embossed rows of protrusions, wooden pole at the back, dam., traces of usage and abrasion;
the Mbugwe are a small ethnic group in northeastern Tanzania. Like their neighbouring pastoral groups of the triangle Lake Natron, Lake Eyasi and Lake Manyara the Mbugwe used to produce buffalo hide circular shiels.
