Rare, White Metal “Truxton” Medal
c. 1801 Captain Thomas Truxton Medal in White Metal, Extremely Fine.
Julian NA-2, struck at the United States Mint. Struck from a late state of the original dies, with a myriad of raised “pimples” on both sides. Nice rims -- free of the bruising that afflicts these earliest Naval Medals (including the Julian plate coin). This is the only Truxton Medal we’ve handled in our long history of offering U.S. Mint Medals!
