Description

French, 20th century (circa 1940). Pair of mid century modern designer Maison Jansen Empire style brass metal mounted sycamore wood fauteuils or armchairs. Each with a backswept crest over an X-form back splat, centered by a brass medallion, joined to the cushioned seat by continuous down-swept arms, raised on short, tapering circular legs. Seat upholstered in Clarence House "Mikinos" cream and tan brown patterned fabric. Height 30.75", width 25", depth 25". Seat to floor 15.5". Reference: James Archer, Jansen Furniture (New York: Acanthus Press, 2007), p. 12.
