1863 “MANUS’ HISTORICAL WAR MAP: ONE HUNDRED & FIFTY MILES AROUND RICHMOND”, Choice Very Fine.
27.75” x 20.75”, laid down on silk for display and stability, toned along most of the olds, and with trivial loss at one fold intersection. Printed in blue and red, with a detailed map of the Richmond area as the central theme. Images of the opposing Generals Grant and Lee appear in tiny ovals near the bottom of the map. Magnus was a prolific producer of high-quality printed products during the Civil War, including songsheets, envelopes, patriotic paper, maps, etc. This is the first we’ve seen of this large, impressive map.
