Description
Very early razors in dual coffin box. Marked Holley & Co., Lakeville Conn., this mid 19th century pair of razors represents early razor production in America. Both razors have black horn handles with pewter end caps that are inlaid with a mother of pearl shield on the front. Neatly beveled blades show fine craftsmanship, one is a wedge 13/16” wide and the second has been concaved, becoming a bit narrower in the process. Second razor also has a slightly warped handle. Early double coffin box may predate the razors.
