New Kingdom, 1550-1070 BC. A fragment of carved limestone with profile figure of mummiform Anubis or Duamutef (one of the sons of Horus) in jackal-headed form with stripe detail to the shoulder; mounted on a custom-made stand. 67 grams, 81mm including stand (3 1/4"). From an old British private collection; formed between 1975 and 1985.
