Description
5th-3rd century BC. A blackware skyphos with pedestal foot and two square handles, to one face a band of guilloche below the rim, garland of rosettes with pendant trails in white and ochre, to the reverse, horizontal band of trefoils. 93 grams, 14.5cm (5 3/4"). From the estate of a North Country collector, acquired over a 30 year period from the early 1970s; formerly with Ancient Art, Windsor, UK, in 1999.
