1st century BC-2nd century AD. A mixed group of brooches from the private collection of Richard Hattatt, each with an accession number to the reverse and card tag with details of findspot and publication, comprising: a La Tène II fibula with returned foot from Carnuntum, ref.2120 (published as fig.226); a stepped lozenge plate brooch with central enamelled panel, ref.2176 (published as fig.567); a quadriform brooch with discoid lug, central panel of millefiori inlay in white, red and blue, ref.3366 (published as fig.1620); a disc brooch of 'adlocutio' type with repoussé panel, eagle (figures absent), ref.2192 (published as fig.631); a lozenge plate brooch with central raised cell, punched ring-and-dot ornament surrounding, ref.2352 (published as fig.574); an equal-ended lozenge plate brooch with lateral knops, raised transverse bar with three inlaid niello-filled saltires, ref.3230 (published as fig.1584). 34 grams total, 25-60mm (1 - 2 1/2").
