12th-10th century BC. A cast Bronze Age rapier with narrow triangular blade, thick rounded midrib, rounded tip, scooped shoulders with lateral flanges, round-section tang with flattened finial. Cf. Branigan, K. Aegean Metalwork of the Early and Middle Bronze Age, Oxford, 1974, plate 11, item 483 ascribed to Troy (Anatolian Troad). 548 grams, 54cm (21 1/4").
