710-725 AD. Obv: two profile busts facing with long pellet-ended cross with pedestal at base. Rev: bird standing right with head looking back over shoulder at serpent-headed bead circle. S. 802C; N. 141; see Metcalf pp. 355-356 and plate 18, no. 303 for a similar example (different dies); see EMC 1994.0152 for a similar example (different dies). 1.08 grams. Found Buckland, Gloucestershire, UK, 2013; part of a hoard disclaimed under Treasure Act (reference 2013 T654, with copy of letter and the British Museum report); recorded with Portable Antiquities Scheme (reference GLO-A4E8B3).
