Driggs, a Columbia Record producer in New York in the 1950s, collected 100,000 pieces of Jazz memorabilia, including publicity still photos. The young New Orleans musician portrayed in this photo had already left Chicago for New York, to become famous for his musical innovations in Harlem nightclubs.
