Autograph Letter Signed by Antonio Brosa. Translated into English (in part) the document reads: "…I have informed the Governors of Cuba and Trinidad, adding yourself as well now, that in the coming week, will try to embark on the American Brigadoon "Isaac Franklin" some of the slave owners ("patrocinadores") of the negros, persons promoting propaganda and principle agents of the Anti-Slavery Society, to whom I will deny a passport if they should ask for one..." The letter sets the scene for an encounter of opposing factions. An early letter relating to the 2nd Anti-Slavery Society of 1839.
Condition
Yellowed, small worming hole near center crease, affecting a few letters; very good.
