JOHN MORTON (1725-1777). Signer of the Declaration of Independence, Chaired the committee that wrote the Articles of Confederation, Delegate to the Continental Congress during the American Revolution providing the swing vote that allowed Pennsylvania to vote in favor of the United States Declaration of Independence.
Fr. PA-156. Pennsylvania. April 3, 1772. Two Shillings. Plate B. Conservation. Signed by “John Morton,” Choice Fine. This well centered note has even wear from circulation yet the rich brown signatures and serial number remain quite bold and attractive. Some conservation the the vertical centerfold with the all important JOHN MORTON signature appearing bold and sharp.
