1885 Base Ball ABC Illustrated Book

This 1885 chromolithographic children's book is illustrated with various first-rate full-color shots of children engaged in baseball games. Published by the famous McLoughlin Brothers in 1885, the book was used by young children as an alphabet primer. Collectors prize this rare book for its tremendous graphics and display value. The Halper auction had a slightly higher grade example realize $3,737. This example has benefited from some very minor restoration and displays far better than its technically accurate Good to Vg condition. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000.
