Important Notice: Please note that the format of this auction differs from a traditional eBay Live auction in that only absentee bids are accepted. There is no live "bidding on the close" in which to participate. All lots offered in this auction will close at exactly the same time, as opposed to a traditional one at a time closing of lots, and therefore there is no live "one lot at a time" bidding close in which to participate. Your left bids will compete with all other left bids by auction participants. Bids may be placed on the eBay system at any time prior to 9:00 PM EST, May 1, 2004. No bids will be recognized or accepted when the eBay Live "live bidding applet" is run early in the morning of May 2, 2004 strictly for the purpose of officially registering and recording the final auction results.

1916 Brooklyn Dodgers Panorama

One of the rarest and most distinctive prints of the era, featuring the 1916 Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1916 the Brooklyn Dodgers captured their first pennant since 1900, only to lose a closely contested World Series to the powerful Boston Red Sox. Almost photographic in detail, this art print depicts players in action in the opening game of the 1916 World Series. The National League Champion Dodgers, including Wilbert Robinson, Casey Stengel, Zach Wheat, and Rube Marquard, are all pictured below in a traditional team pose. Measures an impressive 21.5 x 27.5 inches. As intended by the printmaker, this exceptionally rare and very artistic print was ideal for display. Professionally dry mounted to lie perfectly flat, and allow for easy handling and framing. We have only seen a few of these over the years. This is by far the finest of these few in terms of condition. Excellent to Mint condition. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $1,500/$3,000.
